Corporate Functions
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain strategic external partnerships to enable rapid design and development of drug substance and drug product for pre-clinical/clinical phase assets; liaise with Discovery and Manufacturing to transition assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Ensure alignment with PRD/SMDD strategic requirements by working with cross-functional leaders across Lilly CMC, Quality, Procurement, and Safety.
- Drive implementation of novel SMDD technology for GMP production with CDMOs; enable collaborative business relationships for speed and flawless execution.
- Champion operational excellence: monitor capacity/quality/performance, perform trend analysis, develop governance for external operations, manage supply chain/R&D/compliance/contract processes, and identify best practices.
- Manage relationships: mitigate business/legal/human risks, reduce operational inefficiencies, monitor resources devoted to alliances, seek 360° feedback, and coach internal team members.
- Partner with Tech@Lilly on lab design and data/knowledge capture aligned to SMDD goals and compliance; ensure alignment between CDMOs and SMDD.
- Oversee business operations activities including cross-functional issue management, audit support, contract adherence, milestone tracking.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to address issues/gaps, resolve conflicts, and drive “Voice of the Alliance/Customer”.
- Bridge cultural gaps between Lilly and partners and coach teams on relationship development.

Basic Requirements:
- Minimum B.S. (Chemistry / Engineering / Biosciences).
- Minimum 15 years’ CMC experience in pharma, including at least 5 years enabling novel CMC technologies/supply chain via contract manufacturing organizations.
