Sr Director, Global Procurement Category Strategy, Portfolio Management & Sourcing Excellence

Responsibilities
- Design and implement the enterprise-wide category strategy methodology, including standards, templates, playbooks, and governance models.
- Ensure consistent application of category profiles and segmentation, strategy development standards, defined approval pathways, and execution/monitoring cadences.
- Own and manage the Global Category Strategy Roadmap (annual and rolling 3-year horizon).
- Develop and maintain category maturity heatmaps and insights.
- Track and report on strategy completeness, execution progress, and value delivery.
- Facilitate structured review cycles with Category Leads, Executive Directors, and Senior Directors.
- Define, own, and continuously improve the enterprise sourcing framework (RFx templates, bid analysis tools, scoring models, complexity assessment standards).
- Promote standardization of sourcing practices across categories and teams.
- Ensure sourcing events are executed in line with approved methodologies, roles, and engagement models.
- Collaborate with senior peers to integrate category strategy and sourcing operations.
- Serve as single point of accountability for Third-Party Sourcing Provider (MSP) performance; establish and manage KPIs, SLAs, scorecards, and quality audits.
- Lead operational and business reviews covering performance, escalations, risks, and improvement actions.
- Ensure MSP resource planning aligns to sourcing demand and complexity; ensure compliance with sourcing policies, contracting standards, ESG, supplier inclusion, and risk controls.
- Identify cost optimization, automation, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Design and deliver capability uplift programs for category managers and sourcing teams; maintain a centralized resource library (market intelligence tools, templates/playbooks, benchmarks, best practices).
- Interface with Legal, Finance, Risk, and Compliance; drive adoption of new tools/processes and ways of working; lead change management for the transformed operating model.
Experience/Qualifications
- 14+ years professional work experience plus BS/BA, or 12+ years plus MA/MS or MBA (corporate environment), preferably in DEI, procurement/supplier management, or corporate strategy.
- 8+ years managing procurement leaders/teams with mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
- Experience supporting Global Procurement transformation projects with business partners to deliver on scope, budget, and transformation results.
- Exceptional track record applying procurement principles, best practices, standards, and industry practices.
- Experience leading multiple projects/teams in a matrixed organization.
- Strong leadership and business partnering; influence without authority.
- Extensive knowledge of procurement/spend systems data and analysis.
