Sr Director, - Global Procurement Business Partnering & Category Management, Commercial

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Commercial organization leadership to identify requirements aligned with business strategies and priorities; engage in strategic planning and target setting.
- Manage an end-to-end portfolio across Procurement strategies, operational excellence projects, and programs; act as a single point of contact for seamless Procurement engagement.
- Formulate and implement global, enterprise-wide Commercial category strategy to improve Procurement experience for stakeholders and provide one voice to suppliers.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, deliverable status, dashboards, market intelligence, and adoption of preferred supplier programs.
- Provide progress status briefings to management, project teams, and executives; proactively flag issues (projects, timelines, etc.).
- Drive strategy development and communication cadence aligned with senior leadership; create executive-level presentations.
- Create a case for change and inspire stakeholders/team collaboration to realize Procurementβs value.
- Influence decision-making using category and sourcing insights to support business strategies.
- Lead and develop a team to define and deliver global/regional category strategies.
- Build supplier relationships; meet with regional/divisional stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and continuous improvement vs. category targets.
- Partner with suppliers and senior internal leadership to define supplier targets (quality, reliability, innovation, cost).
- Serve as strategic thought partner for business objectives, challenges, and requirements; ensure Procurement translates into category planning/solutions.
- Identify cost improvement opportunities; present to marketing leadership; align on implementation plans and drive execution.
- Partner with Supplier Risk, Inclusion, and Sustainability to integrate business diversity and responsible procurement into the value proposition.
- Develop global benchmarks and understand industry dynamics via agency sessions, workshops, publications, and peer discussions.
- Oversee fact-based negotiation strategies with strategic vendors.
- Advise on Procurement goals and category strategies based on deep subject matter expertise and market understanding.
- Provide holistic oversight across end-to-end category accountabilities (strategy, business partner engagement, sourcing, contracting, negotiating, supplier management).
- Foster inclusion, results orientation, and psychological safety; empower team members to speak up and grow.
Qualifications / Experience:
- 14+ years professional work experience plus BS/BA, or 12+ years plus MA/MS or MBA (corporate environment); preferably in DEI, procurement/supplier management, or corporate strategy.
- 8+ years managing procurement leaders and teams (mentoring, coaching, performance management).
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration; influence without authority.
- Strong understanding of marketplace/industry supply base, practices, and standards.
- Ability to build strategic supplier partnerships and influence executive-level external stakeholders.
- Strong subject matter expertise to solve complex business issues.
- Strong negotiation skills; experience with complex supplier relationships and high-value contracts.
- Analytical skills to interpret spend and market data to shape strategies, forecast trends, and identify value opportunities.
- Proficiency with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) and analytics tools (Excel, Tableau).
- Ability to manage complexity and establish agile ways of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution, and strategic-thinking skills.
