SUMMARY
The PKU Sr. Account Manager is responsible for maximizing sales of BioMarin commercialized products in their area. Maintain disease education, promote awareness, and ensure patient compliance. Coordinate care with excellent follow-up. Flexible/adaptable to a β€œstart-up” commercial organization; goal oriented with aggressive but achievable targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve territory sales, penetration, market share, and profit targets (quarterly & annual).
- Create and implement business plan for strategy, disease awareness, patient compliance; track progress.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers (geneticists, nurses, nurse practitioners, genetic counselors, ancillary staff).
- Communicate effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders in person and via internet-based platforms.
- Provide leadership through example to fellow PKU Account Managers.
- Financially manage assigned territory.
- Participate in business planning meetings, disease awareness efforts, and professional society meetings as assigned.
- Become an expert in PKU data and explain its significance.
- Provide field insight on clinical practices of assigned accounts.
- Demonstrate leadership/influence without authority.

SCOPE
- Manage a multi-state territory with a diverse customer base.

TRAVEL
- Overnight travel required: 40%–60%.

REMOTE SELLING
- Remote/virtual selling required; communicate via internet-based meeting platforms (clinic meetings, internal calls, patient education).

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Advanced healthcare degree or experience desired (e.g., nurse, pharmacist, dietitian).

EXPERIENCE
- Required: 7+ years in pharmaceutical or healthcare industries; 5+ years in biotech/specialty sales with high-cost products.
- Highly desired: hospital/academic sales experience; orphan-disease experience; experience with new product launches.
