Overall Purpose:
- Launch a product in the ophthalmic presbyopia market by providing territory disease state education and driving launch and ongoing growth of the LENZ Therapeutics product portfolio.
- Deliver high standards for the product launch through ownership of activities and results, strong sales execution, account management, and relationship building with key eye care customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with targeted physicians (optometrists and ophthalmologists) using expert selling and account development skills.
- Exceed sales performance goals and key productivity metrics across the territory.
- Use analytical skills to plan and prioritize productive activity; increase reach and frequency to drive product trial and utilization.
- Understand ophthalmology/optometry practice functions and how they impact prescribing and pull-through.
- Maintain complete knowledge of eye care clinical information (ocular anatomy, disease state, products, and office treatment patterns).
- Set and execute actionable business plans aligned to sales activities.
- Demonstrate personal accountability for high standards of ethics and compliance.
- Maximize key resources to achieve territory success.
- Adapt in a selling environment while partnering with stakeholders (district managers, marketing, medical affairs, sales ops, inside sales, training).
- Share best practices to elevate national performance.
- Ensure PDMA compliance and adhere to all company and industry compliance guidelines.
- Adapt quickly to change and respond to new market information.
- Use strong communication and change management skills.
Additional Dimensions:
- Field-based (remote); candidate must live within the assigned territory.
- Travel required within the territory and beyond for sales meetings, customer conventions, and headquarters in San Diego, CA; up to 40β50% travel.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Work in office and ophthalmic practitioner locations; may require prolonged sitting, intermittent phone/computer work, some walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs.; flexible with varying schedules.

Compensation/Benefits:
- Salary range: $110,000β$140,000 per year.
- Incentive bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in business, marketing, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales with a proven track record of success (required).
- Proven track record of pharmaceutical launch experience (strongly preferred).
- Eye care experience (strongly preferred).
