Overall Purpose:
- Launch and grow LENZ Therapeutics’ product portfolio in the ophthalmic presbyopia market by delivering territory disease state education and executing an ongoing launch with high standards for compliance and results.
- Build and maintain relationships with key eye care customers and partner with internal stakeholders to maximize sales in the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accounts and build relationships with targeted physicians (Optometrists & Ophthalmologists).
- Exceed sales performance goals and key productivity metrics across the territory.
- Use analytics to plan productive activity, prioritize customer engagements, and increase reach, frequency, trial, and utilization.
- Understand ophthalmology/optometry practice functions and how they impact prescribing and product pull-through.
- Maintain complete knowledge of eye care clinical information (ocular anatomy, disease state, products, and office treatment patterns).
- Set and execute actionable business plans aligned to territory impact.
- Demonstrate personal accountability for ethics and compliance.
- Maximize territory resources to drive success.
- Adapt in a fast-paced selling environment with multiple stakeholders (District Managers, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales Ops, Inside Sales, Training).
- Share best practices to elevate national performance.
- Ensure PDMA compliance and adhere to company/industry compliance guidelines.
- Communicate effectively and manage change.
Additional Dimensions:
- Field-based (remote); candidate must live within the assigned territory.
- Travel required within the selling territory and beyond for meetings, conventions, and headquarters in San Diego, CA.
- Up to 40–50% travel required in some territories.
- Reports to the District Manager.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work in an office and at ophthalmic practitioner locations; sit for long periods; intermittent phone and computer/keyboard use.
- Some walking and lifting up to 20 lbs.; low to moderate noise; flexible schedules.
- Frequent out-of-town travel may be required.
Salary Range / Benefits:
- $110,000–$140,000 per year.
- Incentive bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
- 2+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience with a proven track record of success (required).
- Proven track record of pharmaceutical launch experience (strongly preferred).
- Eye care experience (strongly preferred).
