Overall Purpose:
- Launch and grow LENZ Therapeutics’ ophthalmic presbyopia product in the assigned territory, driving disease state education, product launch execution, and sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships and develop accounts with targeted physicians (Optometrists & Ophthalmologists).
- Exceed sales performance goals and key productivity metrics across the territory.
- Use analytics to prioritize high-impact customer engagements and drive product trial/utilization.
- Understand ophthalmology/optometry practice functions and their impact on prescribing and patient pull-through.
- Maintain clinical knowledge: ocular anatomy, disease state, products, and office treatment patterns.
- Create and execute actionable business plans aligned to territory goals.
- Demonstrate personal accountability for ethics and compliance.
- Maximize resources to drive territory success.
- Partner with key internal stakeholders (District Managers, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales Ops, Inside Sales, Training) to adapt in a dynamic selling environment.
- Share best practices with peers and leadership to improve national performance.
- Ensure PDMA compliance and adhere to all company/industry compliance guidelines.
- Remain highly adaptable to change and new market information.
- Demonstrate strong communication and change management skills.
Additional Dimensions / Work Requirements:
- Field-based (remote); must live within the assigned territory.
- Up to 40–50% travel; travel within the territory and beyond to sales meetings, customer conventions, and corporate HQ in San Diego, CA.
- Reports directly to the District Manager.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Office environment and ophthalmic practitioner locations; may require sitting for long periods, intermittent phone/computer work, some walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs.; flexible to varying schedules.
Salary Range (as stated):
- $110,000–$140,000 per year (based on successful sales experience in pharma/eye care pharma/vision care).
- Incentive bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales with a proven track record of success (required).
- Proven track record of pharmaceutical launch experience (strongly preferred).
- Eye care experience (strongly preferred).
