Overall Purpose:
Frontline Specialty Sales Representative to launch and grow LENZ Therapeutics’ ophthalmic presbyopia product portfolio in the assigned territory. Responsible for territory disease state education, sales execution, account management, and maximizing sales through strong relationships with eye care customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with targeted physicians (Optometrists & Ophthalmologists).
- Exceed sales performance goals and key productivity metrics across the territory.
- Use analytical skills to prioritize key customer engagements and drive reach/frequency to increase product trial and utilization.
- Understand ophthalmology/optometry practice functions and how roles impact prescribing and pull-through.
- Maintain clinical knowledge: ocular anatomy, disease state, products, and office treatment patterns.
- Set and execute actionable business plans aligned to selling activities.
- Demonstrate personal accountability for ethics and compliance.
- Maximize key resources to drive territory success.
- Partner with stakeholders (district managers, marketing, medical affairs, sales ops, inside sales, training) and adapt to market changes.
- Share best practices with peers and leadership.
- Ensure PDMA compliance and adhere to company/industry compliance guidelines.
- Communicate effectively and manage change.
Additional Dimensions:
- Field-based/remote; must live within the assigned territory.
- Travel required within and beyond the territory (sales meetings, customer conventions, and San Diego, CA headquarters), up to 40–50%.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Office and ophthalmic practitioner locations; may sit for long periods; occasional walking and lifting up to 20 lbs.; may answer telephone and use a keyboard.
- Flexible schedule; frequent out-of-town travel.
Compensation/Benefits:
- Salary range: $110,000–$140,000 per year.
- Incentive bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
- 2+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience with a proven track record of success (required).
- Proven track record of pharmaceutical launch experience (strongly preferred).
- Eye care experience (strongly preferred).
