This role is field-based. Candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating in compliance with AbbVie’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives; perform post-call evaluation to continuously improve performance. Handle objections and close every sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that meets call metrics and optimizes coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease/product/clinical expertise, and share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate value proposition; identify and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business-related field, or equivalent.
- Proven track record in selling; solid presentation skills.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge recognized as an expert resource.
- Strong business acumen; proficient with business tools; strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach to customer behavior; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: success in relevant therapeutic-area sales; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English-speaking countries.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
- Ability to travel and attend overnight training/sales meetings.
- Drive personal or company vehicle and/or operate powered material handling equipment.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter assigned facilities/organizations (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses).
