Territory: Santa Clarita, Palmdale, Lancaster, Fillmore, Southern Bakersfield. Ideally, candidate lives in territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance. Ability to travel (drive and/or fly) frequently within territory is required.

What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary connection to medical customers by providing clinical knowledge of products to medical professionals and helping them navigate the payer environment.
- Implement marketing strategy and promote Amgen products as led by the District Manager.

Responsibilities
- Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and effectively communicate clinical benefits to drive appropriate utilization.
- Achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and achieving/exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop relationships to service and manage accounts, including customizing interactions based on customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving/triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance; develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn and grow.
- Demonstrate sustained passion for products throughout the sales cycle, building the brand with patient impact at the forefront.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications – Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree OR
- Associate’s degree + 4 years of sales experience OR
- High school diploma/GED + 6 years of sales experience

Basic Qualifications – Senior Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree + 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (not sales related) OR
- Associate’s degree + 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (not sales related) OR
- High school diploma/GED + 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (not sales related)

Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years sales experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device; product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases
- Local market knowledge
- Established relationships in the territory
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration
- Adaptability with core competencies: Planning/Organizing; leveraging business/industry/technical knowledge; communicating with impact; driving for results; cultivating internal/external relationships
