Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Rheumatology - Minneapolis, MN. Field-based role delivering brand strategy and tactics, managing territory and targeted accounts to maximize short and long-term sales performance with patient-centered focus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and product knowledge with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify/maintain disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
  • At least five years of relevant industry experience if no bachelor’s degree, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Proven track record of success in selling and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and anticipate changes.
  • Influences others and is a credible, collaborative team player; leads by example and coaches peers in challenging environments.
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: proven sales performance in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency in speaking and writing.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities in the assigned territory; may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, licenses.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and ability to operate in a matrix environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; ability to drive a personal vehicle or company car.
