Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Rheumatology - Manhattan North. Field-based role focused on executing brand strategy and tactics, managing territory and accounts, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales while adhering to policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and driveCalls to action to close on every sales call.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute call plans to achieve set metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify/maintain disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of a bachelor’s, with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred and a high school diploma/GED required
  • Proven track record in selling and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt selling approach to customer style; offers innovative ideas to maximize opportunities
  • Influences others, is a credible role model, and fosters collaboration; demonstrates positive behaviors and peer coaching
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies
  • Preferred: track record of sales performance in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities and organizations in the territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
  • Demonstrates deep scientific/therapeutic/product knowledge; strong business acumen; operates effectively in a matrix environment
  • Driving a personal or company vehicle; valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
