Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Rheumatology - Lubbock, TX. Field-based role covering West Texas and surrounding areas. Responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, achieving sales performance and KPIs, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales while adhering to AbbVie’s code of conduct and all applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and drive calls to action to close sales.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve set metrics, optimize coverage and frequency to key customers, and maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, and product knowledge; share insights with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) years of relevant industry experience required if no bachelor’s degree; three (3)+ years within pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required if no degree.
  • Proven track record of selling success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt selling approach to customer style; innovative problem-solving to maximize opportunities.
  • Influences others and is viewed as credible; builds collaborative partnerships; demonstrates positive behaviors and peer coaching.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to handle increased responsibility at district/region levels; use findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: proven sales performance in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Must meet HCIR credentialing requirements and maintain credentials; willing to undergo background checks, drug screening, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses as required.
  • Demonstrates deep scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and matrix collaboration; strategic and critical thinking.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; ability to drive a personal or company vehicle.
