Field-based role (candidates should live within reasonable distance of the primary city). Geography: areas surrounding Fresno and Sacramento; ideal candidate resides in or near Fresno. About 40% overnight travel.

Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center and complying with AbbVie business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives; perform post-call evaluations to improve sales performance; handle objections and consistently secure logical calls to action.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges; build trusted relationships and win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory/market landscape, competitors, disease, product, and clinical/sales expertise; share market intelligence to align brand strategy.
- Differentiate value proposition; identify/develop/maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: 5+ years relevant experience; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; adapts selling approach to customer behavior; offers innovative solutions.
- Influences others; credible role model; collaborative, leads by example.
- Demonstrated leadership/support at district/region/organizational levels; develops sales strategies using findings.
- Preferred: sales performance success in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing experience.
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements for assigned facilities (background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, state/city licenses); must be in good standing/eligible.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic/critical thinking; works in a matrix environment.
- Ability to drive personal/company vehicle or powered equipment; valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
