This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; conduct post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections to close sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively addressing customer needs and challenges; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Maintain deep knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease and clinical/sales expertise; share insights to align strategy and execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business preferred; or relevant equivalent experience required (5+ years in pharma/health/science preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and business tool proficiency; strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer behavior; leverage insights to develop sales strategies.
- Proven sales success; strong presentation skills; effective in a matrix environment; innovative problem-solving.
- Ability to influence and act as a credible role model; collaborative partnership.
- Leadership by example; documented leadership success.
- Preferred: success in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- English proficiency verbally and in writing (where applicable).
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter assigned facilities; maintain good standing/eligibility.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
