Job Description (Field-based)
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance (patient-centered) and comply with AbbVie business code, policies, and all laws.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; conduct post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and close calls to action.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency.
- Continuously learn customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, accounts, disease/product/clinical expertise; share market intelligence to optimize brand strategy execution.
- Differentiate value proposition; identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred (or equivalent experience required).
- Required experience (if no bachelor’s): at least 5 years, with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science (high school/GED required).
- Adapt selling approach based on customer behavior; leverage findings for sales strategies.
- Effective in matrix environments; strategic/critical thinking; collaborative partnership.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; expert resource; strong business acumen.
- Preferred: proven sales success in therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements for facility access; maintain good standing/eligibility.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
