Job Description (Field-based)

Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and customer needs-solving capability to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating in accordance with AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives; execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections/concerns and secure logical, reasonable calls to action to close on each sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise) to align with teams and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate the value proposition with assigned health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business (preferred) or relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of experience (3+ years preferred) in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership success and solid presentation skills; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; proficient with business tools.
- Ability to identify customer behavior and adapt selling approach; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: Successful sales performance in respective therapeutic areas.
- Preferred: Commercial pharmaceutical experience (e.g., physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, marketing).
- Preferred: In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource.
- Preferred: English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in the assigned territory (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
