Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives; perform post-call evaluation to improve sales performance.
- Handle objections and consistently gain logical, reasonable calls to action to close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted customer relationships; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency for key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business (preferred) OR equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of relevant industry experience; 3+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Demonstrated in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking.
- Adaptable selling approach; develops sales strategies from insights; offers innovative solutions.
- Experience operating in a matrix environment; influences and coaches peers.
- Preferred: proven sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency (non-English speaking countries).
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access assigned facilities.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
