Field-based role; candidates should live within a reasonable distance of the primary city.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy/tactics in the field to maximize short- and long-term sales performance.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial/marketing objectives.
- Develop pre-call plans; conduct post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and secure appropriate next steps to close sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively addressing customer needs; achieve win-win agreements.
- Create and execute call plans meeting call metrics and optimizing coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market/customer/competitive intelligence to align on brand strategy and execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred, or equivalent industry experience required.
- Required experience (if no bachelor’s): at least 5 years in pharma/health/science, with 3+ years preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Leadership and presentation skills; business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; proficient business tools.
- Ability to adapt selling approach; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: therapeutic-area sales success; physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing experience; in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized expert resource.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbal/written) for non-English speaking countries.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements; may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
