Role: Field-based (live within a reasonable distance of the primary city). Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs while placing the patient at the center and operating in compliance with AbbVie policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives; conduct post-call evaluation to improve performance; handle objections and secure logical calls to action to close each sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges; build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, landscape, competitors, segments, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise) to align strategy and anticipate change.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years industry experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred) with a high school diploma/GED required.
- Proactively adapts selling approach based on customer behavior.
- Effective in a matrix environment; innovative problem-solving.
- Demonstrated scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; credible expert and collaborator.
- Leadership-by-example; demonstrated success with increased responsibility.
- Preferred: proven sales performance in therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience; English proficiency (for non-English speaking countries).
- Required: satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and required licenses).
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
