Role overview:
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and customer needs-solving capability to maximize short- and long-term sales performance; place the patient at the center of efforts and operate in accordance with AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations; handle objections and gain appropriate calls to action to close each sales call.
- Proactively address customer needs, expectations, and challenges; build trusted relationships and win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, product, and clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize execution.
- Differentiate the value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent experience.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s: at least 5 years’ experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- Proactively adapt selling approach based on customer behavior; develop sales strategies.
- Operate effectively in a matrix environment; provide innovative ideas and respond to change.
- Demonstrate in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking.
- Lead by example; demonstrate leadership and coaching.
- Preferred: proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling and/or managed health care or marketing preferred; English proficiency.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in territory; remain in good standing/eligible.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
