Field-based role (candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city).
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
- Handle objections and drive logical, reasonable calls to action to close on every sales call.
- Build trusted customer relationships and achieve win-win agreements with customers.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, landscape, competitors, disease/product/clinical expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; or relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- Required experience in lieu of degree: at least 5 years’ experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership success; solid presentation skills; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer style/behavior; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales success within respective therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing experience.
- Preferred: in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert.
- Preferred: English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities in territory (background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, state/city licenses; responsible for compliance).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
