Field-based role; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to drive sales performance.
- Effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance.
- Handle objections and consistently drive calls to action to close sales calls.
- Develop and execute call plans that achieve call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, competitors, disease/product/clinical and sales expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; develop and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business (preferred) or relevant/equivalent industry experience (required).
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years’ experience (3+ years preferred) in pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and use of business tools.
- Ability to adapt selling approach to customer behavior and develop sales strategies.
- Experience operating in a matrix environment; strong influence and leadership.
- Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience; English proficiency.
- Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements for assigned territory (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
