Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating in compliance with AbbVie policies, laws, and regulations.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and conduct post-call evaluation to improve performance; handle objections and consistently drive logical, reasonable calls to action to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical/sales expertise) to align stakeholders and optimize brand execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; or relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry (high school diploma/GED required).
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer style/behavior and leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
- Proven sales success and solid presentation skills; works effectively in a matrix environment; provides innovative ideas.
- Demonstrated influence, credibility, collaboration, and leadership/peer coaching.
- Preferred: sales performance track record in relevant therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing; English proficiency.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain facility entry in assigned territory.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
