Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Psychiatry - Paducah West, KY. Field-based role; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to drive sales performance and manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts.
  • Build strong customer relationships and apply customer needs solving capability to maximize short and long term sales performance with the patient at the center of efforts.
  • Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed set objectives.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy and its execution.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers; identify and collaborate with disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource; strong business acumen and strategic thinking
  • Ability to adapt to customer style/behavior and tailor selling approach; strong presentation skills; operates effectively in a matrix environment
  • Proven track record of sales success and ability to contribute innovative ideas to maximize opportunities; credible and respected with peers
  • Leads by example with positive behaviors and peer coaching; prior leadership experience a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; willingness to travel to cover territory and attend trainings and meetings
  • Driving a personal vehicle or company car/truck; appropriate safety considerations for field work
  • Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency for non-English speaking markets
  • Must satisfy health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities in the assigned territory
