This role is field-based. Candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, solve customer needs, and maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center and complying with AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close sales calls.
- Proactively and continuously serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to reach win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share insights to align strategy and execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business preferred; relevant equivalent experience required.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years relevant experience with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science (high school diploma/GED required).
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer behavior and develop sales strategies; offers innovative solutions.
- Matrix-environment effectiveness; influence others and lead by example.
- Preferred: proven sales performance track record in relevant therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing; English proficiency (verbal and written for non-English speaking countries).
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements for entry to facilities in the assigned territory; eligible in good standing.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
