Role Summary:
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to drive sales performance; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while following all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and gain appropriate calls to action to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and reach win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that meets call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Stay current on customer and territory landscape (needs, expectations, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical/sales expertise) and share insights to align brand strategy and execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; OR relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years industry experience (3+ years pharmaceutical/health/science preferred) plus high school diploma/GED.
- Demonstrated scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking.
- Adapt selling approach based on customer style/behavior; develop sales strategies from insights.
- Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; effective in matrix environments; innovative problem-solving.
- Influences others; respected peer role model; collaborative with district/matrix teams; leads by example and supports peer coaching.
- Preferred: successful sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency for non-English speaking countries.
- Essential: satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in assigned territory; maintain good standing.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
