Job Description
Field-based role; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Hired level is commensurate with experience.

Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and customer-need solving capability to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating in accordance with AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives; execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and consistently close each sales call.
- Build trusted customer relationships and win-win agreements by proactively serving customer needs, expectations, and challenges.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate value proposition and identify/develop/maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of pharmaceutical/health/science experience preferred (3+ preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Adaptable selling approach; use findings to develop sales strategies; innovative ideas.
- Works effectively in a matrix environment; influences others; demonstrates leadership and peer coaching.
- Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing experience.
- English language proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English-speaking countries.
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements; be in good standing/eligible.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
