Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Psychiatry - Macon, GA. This role is field-based and requires proximity to the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships and customer needs solving capability to maximize short and long term sales performance with patient-centered focus.
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and disease, product, clinical and sales expertise with the in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers; identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
  • Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required.
  • Equivalently, at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking.
  • Adapts selling approach to customer style/behavior; develops sales strategies and innovative solutions.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; credible role model; builds collaborative partnerships.
  • Leads by example with positive behaviors and peer coaching; documented leadership and increased responsibility.
  • Preferred: Proven sales track record in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations within the territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; safe driving requirements.
