Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation; handle objections and consistently secure appropriate calls to action to close.
- Proactively and continuously serve customer needs to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, and disease/product/clinical expertise; share market intelligence to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years of relevant experience (3+ years preferred) in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership and presentation skills; strong business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; proficient use of business tools.
- Ability to adapt selling approach; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- Preferred: in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized expert.
- Preferred: English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements; maintain entry eligibility (background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, licenses as applicable).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
