Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Psychiatry - Florence, SC. This field-based role executes brand strategy and tactics in the field, manages the assigned territory and targeted accounts, builds strong customer relationships, and solves customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance with the patient at the center.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Aspire to serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves defined metrics and optimizes coverage to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, and share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.
  • Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • In lieu of degree: at least five (5) years of industry experience, with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking
  • Adaptable to customer style/behavior; develops sales strategies; proactive problem solving
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; credible, collaborative, and capable of leading by example
  • Preferred: proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care or marketing
  • English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English-speaking locations
  • HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
  • Background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and licenses as required by state/city
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
