Purpose
- This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build customer relationships and address customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center and operating in compliance with AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; perform post-call evaluations to improve sales performance; handle objections and gain logical calls to action to close each sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs/expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments, accounts, disease, product, clinical/sales expertise) with in-field/brand teams/sales manager to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition and identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent relevant industry experience required.
- In lieu of degree: 5+ years industry experience; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Leadership success, strong presentation skills, business acumen, strategic/critical thinking; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; English proficiency for non-English speaking countries.
- Must meet Health Care Industry Representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting) and be eligible to obtain/maintain them.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
