This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center of efforts and complying with AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial/marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation; handle objections and close sales calls.
- Serve customer needs and build trusted relationships; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, competitors, segments, accounts, disease/product/clinical expertise) to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate value proposition; identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s: 5+ years experience with 3+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Proven sales success and presentation skills; works effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: success in therapeutic-area sales; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency (verbal/written for non-English countries).
- Meet HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe-driving requirements.
