Field-based role (live within reasonable distance of the primary city). Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to drive sales performance. Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center and complying with applicable laws and policies.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call objectives; perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and close with appropriate calls to action.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments, accounts, disease, product, clinical/sales expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years’ experience with 3+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer behavior; develop sales strategies; offer innovative solutions.
- Anticipate/respond to changes; effective in matrix environments.
- Influence others; credible, collaborative role model; demonstrated leadership and coaching.
- Preferred: track record of success in relevant therapeutic-area sales; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter assigned facilities (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements; drive personal or company vehicle/operated equipment.
