Execute brand strategy and tactics in field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and customer needs-solving capability to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating in compliance with AbbVie business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws/regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet/exceed goals.
- Create pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections/concerns and secure appropriate next steps to close on each sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs/expectations/challenges to build trusted relationships and drive win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics; optimize coverage and frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments, accounts, disease, product/clinical/sales expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align strategy and anticipate changes.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred OR relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years’ experience with 3+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership success; solid presentation skills; strong business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; proficient use of business tools.
- Ability to identify customer behavior/style and adapt selling approach; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- Preferred: in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource.
- Preferred: English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- HCIR credentialing requirements: satisfy and maintain eligibility for entry into assigned territory facilities/organizations (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements; ability to drive personal or company vehicle/equipment.
