Job Description
This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center and operating in compliance with AbbVie policies and applicable laws.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and conduct post-call evaluation; handle objections and close each sales call.
- Proactively build trusted customer relationships and win-win agreements by serving customer needs and challenges.
- Develop and execute call plans that achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, disease/product/clinical expertise) with in-field and brand teams to optimize execution.
- Differentiate the value proposition with assigned health providers; identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or relevant/equivalent industry experience required (5+ years; 3+ years in pharma/health/science preferred) with a high school diploma/GED.
- Proven leadership success; solid presentation skills; business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; proficient business tools.
- Adapt selling approach based on customer behavior; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; commercial pharma experience (e.g., physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, marketing); in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English speaking countries.
- Must meet applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter assigned facilities (background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses); responsible for compliance.
- Valid driverโs license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe-driving requirements.
