Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships; solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center of all efforts and operating in compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives; meet or exceed objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and gain logical, reasonable calls to action to close each sales call.
- Serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that meets call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency for key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Understand customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, and clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field/brand/sales teams to optimize brand strategy execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business preferred; or relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years’ experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred) and a high school diploma/GED.
- Proven leadership success; solid presentation skills; strong business acumen; proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking.
- Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach quickly; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: track record of sales performance within therapeutic areas.
- Preferred: commercial pharmaceutical experience (physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing).
- Preferred: in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource.
- Preferred: English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English-speaking countries).
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain facility entry (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements; may drive personal or company vehicle or powered equipment.
