This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; perform post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and drive logical, reasonable calls to action.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively serving customer needs and achieving win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory/market landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, products, and clinical/sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications (Required unless noted):
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred or equivalent industry experience.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of relevant industry experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred) and high school diploma/GED.
- Proactively identifies customer behavior and adapts selling approach.
- Operates effectively in a matrix environment; offers innovative ideas and responds to changes.
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; collaborative.
- Documented leadership success.
- Preferred: Proven sales performance in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency (for non-English speaking countries).
- Satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to enter assigned facilities; maintain good standing.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
