Execute brand strategy and tactics in field sales; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and customer-needs-solving capability to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center and operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws/regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; execute post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections/concerns and close with logical calls to action.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field team/brand team/sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate value proposition; identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience required (5+ years in pharma/health/science preferred; 3+ years preferred; high school diploma/GED required if no bachelor’s).
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Adaptable selling approach; ability to identify customer behavior and develop sales strategies; offers innovative solutions.
- Proven leadership, collaboration, and influence in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: track record in sales performance in therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- Essential: satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in territory (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses); you are responsible for compliance.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
