This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships; solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center and operating in accordance with AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets/marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations to improve sales performance; handle objections and drive logical, reasonable calls to action to close sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs/expectations/challenges to build trusted relationships and reach win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency of key customers.
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, products, and clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or relevant/equivalent industry experience required. In lieu of degree: 5+ years relevant experience with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership success; solid presentation skills; strong business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; proficient business tools.
- Adaptable selling approach; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales performance success in relevant therapeutic areas; commercial pharmaceutical experience (physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing); in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge recognized as an expert.
- Preferred: English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- Required: satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in assigned territory; be in good standing/eligible to obtain credentials.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
