This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively serving customer needs and expectations; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, competitors, disease/product/clinical expertise) with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition and identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business preferred; or relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s: at least 5 years of experience, with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership success and presentation skills; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer style/behavior; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales performance success in respective therapeutic areas.
- Preferred: physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- Preferred: in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge recognized as an expert resource.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbal and writing) for non-English speaking countries.
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities; responsible for meeting requirements.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
