Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Migraine - North Jacksonville, FL. Field-based role; candidates should reside within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, drive sales performance, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships and customer needs solving capability to maximize short and long term sales performance with the patient at the center and in compliance with AbbVie’s policies and laws.
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and conduct post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and gain action on every sales call.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent experience required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to adapt selling approach to customer style/behavior; strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of sales success; ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; innovative problem-solving abilities.
  • Influences others and builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to take on increasing responsibilities at district/region levels.
  • Preferred: track record of sales success in therapeutic areas; pharma industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care or marketing; English proficiency (verbal/written).
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; willingness to drive a personal auto or company vehicle.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in health, sciences, pharmacy, or related field; or equivalent industry experience.

  • HCIR credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities and organizations within the territory; includes background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses as applicable.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
