This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial/marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
- Create pre-call plans; conduct post-call evaluations to improve sales performance; handle objections and close sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively understanding customer needs and achieving win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, disease/product/clinical expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred (or equivalent industry experience required).
- In lieu of degree: 5+ years relevant industry experience; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Proven sales success, solid presentation skills, and ability to operate in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency (verbal and written for non-English countries).
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements for territory facility entry.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
