Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts to maximize short- and long-term sales performance.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; conduct post-call evaluation to improve performance; handle objections and consistently drive appropriate calls to action to close sales.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively addressing customer needs, expectations, and challenges; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency for key customers.
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, product, and clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience required).
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of relevant experience (3+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred) plus a high school diploma/GED.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and ability to use business tools; strategic and critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer style/behavior; leverage insights to develop sales strategies; offer innovative solutions.
- Ability to provide impact, anticipate/respond to changes, and operate effectively in a matrix environment.
- Influence others; act as a credible role model; collaborate with district and matrix teams; demonstrate leadership and peer coaching.
- Preferred: proven sales performance within respective therapeutic areas; commercial pharma experience (e.g., physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing). English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English-speaking countries).
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in assigned territory (background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, required licenses); must be in good standing/eligible.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
