Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage sales performance.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial/marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; perform post-call evaluation; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close sales.
- Serve customer needs to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, competitors, territory dynamics, accounts/disease/product/clinical and sales expertise) to align brand strategy execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; relevant equivalent experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years relevant industry experience; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; proficient with business tools.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer style/behavior; develop sales strategies; offer innovative solutions.
- Ability to operate in a matrix environment; influence others and be a role model; lead by example and coach peers.
- Preferred: proven sales performance in therapeutic area; commercial pharma experience (physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing); English proficiency for non-English speaking countries.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements for facility access (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and required licenses); responsible for compliance.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
