Field-based role; candidates should live within reasonable distance of the primary city.

Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy/tactics in the field to deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial/marketing targets.
- Create pre-call objectives; perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and drive logical, reasonable actions to close.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively understanding customer needs and challenges; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build knowledge of customer/territory landscape (competitors, market segments, disease/product/clinical/sales expertise) and share intelligence with in-field/brand/sales management to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience.
- If no bachelor’s degree: 5+ years relevant experience with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Strong scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; business acumen; strategic/critical thinking.
- Proven sales success and presentation skills; operates effectively in matrix environments; influences and coaches peers.
- Preferred: sales performance track record in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling/training/managed care/marketing experience; English proficiency (as applicable).
- Must meet HCIR credentialing requirements for assigned territory.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe-driving requirements.
