Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Migraine - Louisville South, KY. This field-based role requires residence within a reasonable distance from the primary city and will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. The role involves executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, managing the assigned territory and targeted accounts, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance with patient-centric focus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc., to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Aim to serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that meets metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and product knowledge with in-field team and brand/sales leadership to optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with providers and identify/maintain disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
  • Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Proven leadership, presentation skills, strong business acumen, and strategic/critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Preferred: track record of sales success in respective therapeutic areas.
  • Preferred: experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
  • Preferred: deep scientific/therapeutic/product knowledge and recognition as an expert resource.
  • Preferred: English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English speaking locations.
  • Must satisfy health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to access facilities and organizations in the territory; maintain good standing or be eligible to obtain credentials.
  • HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses; candidate is responsible for satisfying all requirements.
  • Driving a personal auto or company vehicle; valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and meet safe driving requirements.
