Field-based role; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to maximize short- and long-term sales performance.
- Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and customer needs-solving capability.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and drive logical, reasonable calls to action to close.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical/sales expertise) to align teams and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years industry experience; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Proven selling success; solid presentation skills; ability to operate in a matrix environment and offer innovative solutions.
- Ability to influence others, lead by example, and provide peer coaching/collaboration.
- Preferred: sales success within relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English-speaking countries).
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements for facility access; must be in good standing/eligible to obtain credentials (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe-driving requirements.
