Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and gain appropriate calls to action to close on every sales call.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively serving customer needs and expectations; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product/clinical/sales expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align strategy and anticipate changes.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business (preferred) or relevant/equivalent industry experience (required).
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years’ experience; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science (preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- Proactively identify customer behavior and adapt selling approach; leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
- Operate effectively in a matrix environment; offer innovative solutions to maximize opportunities.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; able to influence and lead.
- Leadership and peer-coaching experience; documented success with increased responsibility.
- Preferred: proven sales performance track record in therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- Essential: satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements for assigned territory (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
