Job Description
This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets/marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; execute post-call evaluations to improve sales performance; handle objections and drive to close on sales calls.
- Serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, accounts, disease/product/clinical expertise) to align brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years industry experience (3+ years preferred) in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Adapt selling approach; leverage insights to develop sales strategies; provide innovative solutions.
- Operate effectively in a matrix environment; influence and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Preferred: proven sales performance track record in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, managed care, or marketing experience.
- English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- Meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into territory facilities.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
